The Swale Teaching School builds capacity for effective school to school support through the use of experts across Swale who are currently working in schools. We strive to ensure that all staff are accredited through an external agancy to ensure quality of support, efficiency and that experts are matched directly to school needs.
What is an SLE?
SLEs are the latest initiative from the Government in order to develop school to school support further. These Specialist Leaders in Education will have a proven track record in their area of expertise as well as undertake training to ensure that the support they gives the best possible quality.

What is an LLE?
LLEs are Local Leaders in Education who are serving Headteachers have a proven track record in the improving their school as well as having experience in supporting other schools in the local area.
What is an NLE?
NLEs are National Leaders in Education who are serving Headteachers have a proven track record in the improving their school as well as having experience in long term support projects in other schools.
What is an NLG?
NLGs are National Leaders of Governance who are serving Chairs of Governing Bodies who have a proven track record of working with their own school to improve results, as well as having experience in supporting other schools.
What is an Training Facilitator?
The STSA uses accredited adult learning facilitators to devise and run the staff training sessions for schools, the training model is based on a experiential learning experience, that allows the application of learning to day to day workloads.
What is a Specialist?
The STSA will use specific specialists from time to time to support schools, these staff have a proven track record in their area of expertise and have experience of supporting colleagues across Swale.
