Level 2 - NPQSL

As part of the new National College Modular Curriculum the STSA and Sheerness West Federation are pleased to offer Participation on the NPQSL through Leadership Learning South East. 

The new modular curriculum draws upon the latest research in leadership development and school improvement and offers the opportunity for practical real life reflection through online and face to face sessions. The program assessment regime is intrinsically linked to school improvement and builds participant understanding of core leadership issues.

The program is organised into both essential and elective modules that are focused on practical school experiences linked to the participants’ current role. These include:

  • Effective partnership working
  • Effective whole-school management
  • Improving the quality of teaching
  • Leading change for improvement
  • Leading professional development
  • Research and development in teaching
  • School self-evaluation

Final Assessment

The final assessment is submitted to an external assessor.
The assessment comprises of a project style submission detailing your development as a leader through the leadership competencies assigned to this level while carrying out a School Improvement project and its impact alongside your development as a leader while engaged in it.
Your school based coach and sponsor will also be required to contribute by verifying your submission and supporting with further evidence.
You will be able to chose a window for your assessment within an 18 month timescale. 

  • *The NCTL will be covering assessment costs up to September 2017. Any submissions after this date are likely to incur a £300 fee, in addition to the costs outlined below.

*LLSE can confirm that it has secured KAH bursaries for participants for schools in SwaleCanterbury and Thanet. If you wish to register yourself for a maximum or minuimum bursary please communicate this to enquiries@llse.org.uk when you submit your application. If you wish to determine your suitability for such a bursary prior to application please contact us at enquiries@llse.org.uk

Maximum Bursary : Applicants working in primary schools with 100 or fewer pupils on roll or secondary schools with 500 or fewer pupils on roll are eligible to receive a maximum bursary of £600 (In addition to the £118 LLSE subsidy).

Half Bursary : Applicants working in primary schools with 101 - 250 pupils on roll are eligible for a half bursary of £300 (In addition to the £118 LLSE subsidy).

Minimum Bursary : Applicants working in primary schools with more than 250 pupils on roll or secondary schools with more than 500 pupils on roll are eligible to receive a minimum bursary of £89 (In addition to the £118 LLSE subsidy).

 

Who Can Apply?

You should be in a leadership role with cross-school responsibilities, for example:

  • An experienced middle leader
  • A deputy Headteacher
  • An advanced skills teacher

You will be looking for professional development, but not aspiring to headship at this stage of your career.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations will only be accepted in writing
  • There will be no charge if your booking is cancelled more than 6 weeks before the event
  • The FULL fee is payable if cancellation in made within 6 weeks

As an organisation the Swale Teaching School Alliance fully supports partnership work across schools for the benefit of students at all levels.
