The Abbey School
The Abbey School was opened in Faversham in September 1983 as a result of an amalgamation of the Ethelbert Road Boys School and Lady Capel School for Girls.
There are over 1000 students on roll, and the school caters for boys and girls aged 11-19 who come from a wide variety of feeder schools from Faversham and the surrounding area. There is a staffing establishment of Headteacher, 80 teachers and120 support staff. The Abbey school is categorised as a non-selective school, catering for students across a wide range of ability. The school has a defined Autism Integration Unit.
the school is currently enjoying the best examination results in the history of the school. Standards have continued to rise over the last few years, resulting in our school being awarded two School Achievement Awards by the DfES.
The Abbey School are key strategic partners within the STSA holding responsibility for the recruitment amnd training of alliance SLE's and also taking on action reserach projects leading to sharing of best practice in education across Swale.
